I thought the same thing as David Klausa and played 24/20 7/6. The play that XG favors, 24/23 11/7 just looks weird. The answer must be that coming up to the 20 point is too dangerous.
Interesting. Yeah, inching up to the 23 gives us a way to escape even when the opponent rolls any of the numbers that make the 5pt, instead of being on the bar. That's a big swing on those.
