RE : Why do people play Coquette rather than backgammon?

The main reason why people play Coquette rather than backgammon is because it is a much more sociable version of the game. It allows for multiple players whereas backgammon only allows two players per game. This means that players do not have to wait so long for a game. They then get to play with other players and with some rules can even consult on their team's choice of move. Why do people play Coquette rather than backgammon?

Smile hi

Most backgammon games I found on the internet didn't give me enough freedom of movement. You would roll the dice, click on the piece you wanted to move and the computer would do the rest. If there were more than 1 possible move the computer decided, not you! So I decided to create my own.and here link of the best "Backgammon game" site which are provide all the functionality like change the colors of the Backgammon game and also change the nick name at run time......

Cogbuddy, I hate to mention this but there is no link to click on. I would have really liked to check your site out but alas, I can't do that now.

Coquette???!!! Whaaat?

No such thing - you must mean CHOUETTE!

A chouette is backgammon played by three or more players where one player - the box, or banker plays against everyone. Only one player (the captain) plays for the team but each player controls their own doubling cube. If the box wins the game, the next player in line steps in as captain for the next game.

Re: Backgammon Game

You shouldn't play a chouette on-line as the potential for collusion is too great. Your captain could dump the game to his buddy in the box!
In live BG, chouettes can be very sociable mode of play. They can either be played with or without consultation - ie teammates may or may not advise the captain on how to play. In serious play, the dissent can get quite heated and the 'consulting' can morph into 'insulting'.

Smile Re: Backgammon Game

This is just one variation of backgammon the game, there are other variations and to each his own!. These variations meet the needs of those playing and the game equaly they are designed to meet the particular need of the player. I enjoy just playing backgammon....when i have the chance.
