I have to agree, that I think that there is too much focus on places to discuss other things instead of the topic of what the forum is about. I have seen other sites that have used that type of topic and that is where are the conversation is made and not about the subject itself. So I am glad they have not made one here.

I see both of your points. I think a lounge would be a good topic to have just to get some people's minds off of backgammon and to get to know one another a little better. But then again, I can understand that the admin didn't want a lounge because the whole reason this forum is here is for backgammon.

Re: A suggestion? I would like to see city and country posted after a poster's name. I've played in most of the major cities in North America and half of Europe and would possibly have common aquaintences with the posters. - Vlad, Toronto, Canada

I think its better to develop the content of this forum and find the lounge idea just to hang out a bit premature, love to learn more about Backgammon on this forum, lurking most of the time learning as much as i can......

Re: A suggestion? Check this out: There is a site called Meetup Groups where you can locate people of similar interest in your home area. They list the individuals and you can email them individually up to 12 a day. You can also tell them about this site while you're at it! Good Luck!

I think it's a good idea to create a space to talk about other things. It's not that you would lose focus on what this forum is about but more than anything this is a community, we all have a particular interst on backgammon but we can get to know each other by talking about more than backgammon...
