Doublets

What do you think of this rule in backgammon? Seems to me that a doublet roll could win the game for someone really quickly. I wonder why that rule was added?

i think this rule is not good for the game because if this doublets is used, it is no longer fun to play it. easy win is not ok if you want to enjoy a game. where's the thrill? right?

Why is is no longer fun to play when dublets are being used in the game? I am not sure that I undestand this that well. I might be playing it all wrong.

Not sure what you mean if you are referring to a double e.g. 4:4 or 6:6 they can be both good and bad a double 5 is not a good opening throw. Doubles add to the variety of the game and the complexity of the game and as either player is as likely to throw one over a match the luck element should even out.

I agree.. depending on your position doubles could be good or bad... nothing like a double 6 when I left two hitters behind.. if I managed to build a strong board, I can get out fast and even offer the cube..
