What is a good site to learn the techniques of backgammon? I am a complete newbie. I think I had played once when I was little and I'm getting really into board games again.

i've noticed that many backgammon sites don't talk much in detail about the techniques and how to improve your game but a must have book is "Backgammon Bible" by Paul Magriel.

I swear by gammonvillage!! i'm not on the payroll but it's a great site. I took a lifetime membership about two years ago and paid about £45, it has a selection of information for new players right up to advanced (which i aint!!). Believe me it's well worth the money!! within six months you will have the price of a few lessons or books out of it (if you can stretch to lessons or join a good club so much the better!).

Magriel's book is great, I spent 9 months trying to get the 2004 edition, and finally got a copy for my birthday, ive re read it and im only just starting to see the effect it has on parts of my game.
